I love mine, it's my first dual suspension (had a little Kona hardtail for years before this one) and it rides and fits me perfectly. It's a heavy weight compared to yours - 30 lbs - but it's gotten me out of jams in my "spazz" moments on the trail!
I'm not a hard shredder, and can't justify a freeride bike (too old to heal and can't afford time off work!) so I'll be trying to just keep it simple: improve my skills yet stick with the intermediate stuff. I think I'll keep her and work out some upgrades; probably Talas 32's up front and some tougher wheels, my guy Andrew thinks that will serve me well.
Sounds like you love yours as much as I love mine, but it also sounds like the trails you'll be hitting will be throwing a lot at and asking much of the little Julie. Maybe you can keep her and just add a freeride rig to the stable??? Best of both worlds.
Juliana riders, unite. Glad to add you as a friend here!

Hi Shellance, your guy Badgermeister told me to have a look at your Juliana...so pretty in pink, nice ride! I ride one myself, updated it a little (better pedals, new low profile derailleur, and a tough all mountain stem) to beef it up a little. I'm small like you - 5'4", but straight all the way down, no curves! - and this little bike fits me well. How do you like yours, and have you made up your mind about getting a burlier bike?

the ggod thing about the push back up,well the only good thing about the push back up is looking for cleaner lines and/or looking at what you have just rode, and for a rookie thats great learning.

oh just remembered, dont focus on particular thing, when descending keep your eyes open and focus on all around you, stare at a rock or a tree and you will more than likely hit it,look down the trail and get yourself ready with the attack position.

ah bummer was looking for a bullit but they are kinda exspensive,i would rather go new than get second hand.
its gotta be the bighit, unless any other bike takes your fancy.
see if you had picked a shorter bloke you could of nabbed his,and mines a large frame too im 6,3.

I'm with you...I'm not really interested in a women specific bike either. I haven't checked out the newer Big Hits. If you get to try one out, please let me know how you like it! I have a friend who has a Reign...she really likes it. She's about 5 foot 4 and the bike fits her really well.

Thanks for taking a run for me
Glad you had a fun day too!! So what kind of DH bike are you thinking of getting? Have you started looking around at all? I find it difficult to find bikes that fit me properly. I'm 5 foot 6.5" and my biggest problem is stand over height. I had ordered a Small Kona Stab Deeluxe from my local bike shop a few years ago. When it came in it was way too big for me. I ended up getting a Santa Cruz VP Free. It's a wonderful bike...but now I am ready for something new as well. Bike shopping is still pretty fun though!

body armour will help your confidence for sure, but the level of protection depends on what you are going to be riding,i have just got some 661 kyle strait knee pads which are nice and comfy and you can pedal in them.

ah well hope your feeling better now!! My local spots are Hopton and bringewood in Shropshire so pretty much hang out there or head to the hills behind where i live. there's plenty of rocky bits about that i practice on. Pretty good fun!! Yeah when your at Fort Bill World Cup, don’t forget to shout me! I shall be racing there so may see you around! Don’t worry, you’ll have the skills from your xc so all you need to do is go a little faster! No sweat!
There’s no need to worry, once you get going you’ll love it.
